Description
Automatic Tissue Processor (Carousel Type) The Automatic Tissue Processor is a vital instrument used in histology, pathology, and advanced biology laboratories to prepare human, animal, or plant tissue samples for microscopic examination. Its primary function is to automatically dehydrate, clear, and infiltrate tissue specimens with paraffin wax so they can later be sectioned into microscopic slices. Key Features and Capabilities Multi-Station Carousel Design: A circular layout typically containing 12 stations, made up of multiple 1000 mL borosilicate glass reagent beakers (holding various strengths of alcohol and clearing agents like xylene) and heated, thermostat-controlled wax baths positioned at the base. Automated Specimen Transfer: A mechanical lifting head automatically raises the tissue basket out of one station, rotates the carousel, and lowers it into the next fluid container according to a pre-programmed timeline. Integrated Wax Baths: Insulated containers designed to melt and maintain paraffin wax at a precise temperature, usually between 50°C and 60°C, without overheating or damaging the tissue fibers. Agitation Mechanism: Constant, gentle up-and-down or rotational agitation while the tissue is submerged, ensuring complete and uniform penetration of the processing chemicals into the tissue structure. Programmable Timing & Delay Start: Lab technicians can customize the soaking duration for each individual station. A delay-start feature also allows processing to run automatically overnight, so samples are fully prepared for embedding by morning.
